As the 63rd book in the Stone Barrington series, Distant Thunder is rather formulaic but I still enjoy reading the adventures he finds himself mixed up in. I did discover while reading this book that Stuart Woods penned every one of these books as opposed to outlining the story and having a co-writer compose the novel. I also discovered this book was published posthumously so I am not sure how many more there will be in the series given he wrote them himself. Time will tell how many are left in the works.

A decent plot line with several twists and turns. The feasibility of the crimes and revenge actions seem more plausible than many of the previous installments. The story is enjoyable and an opportunity to lose one self in a story. It isn’t an award winning novel by any means but an enjoyable read.
