Death of an Irish Mummy is the 3rd book in the Dublin Driver series by Catie Murphy. I enjoy this series as the main character, Megan, is a strong woman who is adjusting to a new life in Ireland.
In this book especially, she leans heavily on her principles and stands for her belief in supporting the Williams sisters even when her boss tries to fire her for doing so. I enjoy how she has a cooperative relationship with Detective Bourke whereas so many of the mysteries establish an adversarial relationship between the amateur sleuth and the professionals they interact with.
I really like the descriptions of Ireland and the differences between American and Irish explanations and reactions to different situations. I feel this really adds to the books and adds some moments of levity. The presence of the puppies also provide a lightness to the stories as well. In this book they also act as emotional support which is a nice aspect as well.
The mystery is well written and the guilty party was a bit of a surprise but made sense with the confessions given. I hope the series continues as I am enjoying it.

Good strong intelligent main character. Megan shows grit but also vulnerability when faced with losing her job. And apartment. I appreciate the cooperation with Det Bourke rather than total adversarial relations. The descriptions of the Irish countryside and people is well presented. I like how history is weaved into the story in a way that adds to it rather than being distracting. I look forward to reading more of the series
