Review: The Widow on the Honeymoon Cruise

The Widow on the Honeymoon Cruise The Widow on the Honeymoon Cruise by C.A. Larmer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great twisty cozy mystery. A twist on the classic locked room mysteries. Secrets abounded aboard the superyacht on a honeymoon cruise. The book club came aboard as yet another lie in the plot. As the lies all unraveled the truth came out. The book is filled with characters that spark emotions. Not all good that’s for sure. Once all the twists are resolved the true culprit is identified with a classic motive of love.

Review: Brutal Brownie Bite

Brutal Brownie Bite Brutal Brownie Bite by Becca Bloom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

enjoyable cozy set in Ecuador

I have really enjoyed this series. It’s a fresh setting in Ecuador and balances the mysteries with descriptions of the country. There’s also plenty of baking and sweets described. All in all a great book

Review: Black Beans & Vice

Black Beans & Vice Black Beans & Vice by J.B. Stanley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A cozy with a good balance of character interaction/relationships and mystery solving. This installment in the supper club series had 2 mysteries to be solved. One a bit more personal and highlighted the personal relationships of our MC and Jane. Eliot brings a level of innocence and levity to the story as well. Overall a great bunch of characters that interact well and support one another

Review: Cruising Through Midlife

Cruising Through Midlife Cruising Through Midlife by Addison Moore
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The book was an entertaining cozy. There is a bit more romance in it than a typical cozy but nothing overly detailed. The mystery was well conceived but I feel the how the murder was conducted could have been resolved given it was a bit of a setup job ( no more details without spoiling) I liked all the side characters and I really enjoyed reading all the details about the ports particularly since I have been to the islands. I look forward to reading more in the series and to see if the paranormal aspect continues.

Review: A Hint of Mischief

A Hint of Mischief A Hint of Mischief by Daryl Wood Gerber
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable read. I can absolutely visualize the fairies that interact with Courtney. I want to look for fairy doors around my house now. The mystery is well constructed and there are plenty of viable suspects. Enjoy the series and look forward to reading more in Carmel.
