People We Meet on Vacation was a book that popped on my radar in 2021 but I never managed to pick it up at the library. I was glad I decided to try this book to complete several of the 2022 challenge prompts. It is a fun light hearted book that has deeper undertones if the reader wants to stop and reflect on the storyline more thoroughly. If you just want a light read you can enjoy the book just as much as if you chose to think about it more deeply. I think I am going to have to try Emily Henry's other book, Beach Read at some point in the near future as well.
People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is a wonderful book focusing on the development of a relationship between Poppy and Alex. I enjoyed how the prologue was about an event that you didn't realize the significance of until much later in the story. The format of flipping between present-day and past summers was well done as the story moved through time. The book has layers of emotion and character flaws and strengths. For those looking for a light rom-com type read it will satisfy; those looking for deeper characters and self/life analysis will find that as well.
