This is a new series to me by C.A. Phipps. I had previously read Sweet Saboteur from her Cozy Cafe series. See my review on my blog post from 2020.
Beagles Love Cupcake Crimes is the first in the Beagle Diner series. It centers around a celebrity chef. It does a wonderful job of showing some of the behind-the-scenes aspects of being a TV chef as well as a restaurant owner. Some of those things are good like flying private, but others like stalkers and social media trolls are not so enticing. Lyra St. Claire finds herself mixed up in a few crimes along with her adorable beagle, Cinnamon. The mysteries are well written and keep the reader in suspense as to who is behind them. The relationship developments and the foodie aspects of the story help create a well rounded and engaging story. I look forward to reading more of the series.

enjoyable read
Great cozy with Likeable characters who show layers to their personalities. The guilty party was quite a surprise but made sense This book has wonderful descriptions of restaurant life and an adorable dog that acts as a comfort animal in many ways. Looking forward to more of the series
