Killer Takeout

 I recently had surgery to repair a detached retina so I have been reading and listening to audiobooks but I have not been able to sit at the computer and update my blog.  In an effort to get caught up with all the books I have completed I will mainly just use my goodreads reviews for my blog updates.  I have caught up on a many series during this time as well.  

Killer Takeout is the 7th book in the Key West Food Critic series.  Always a joy to read about the Key West scene.

Burdette continues to capture Key West in a wonderful fashion in this series. This series focuses on a local perspective of the city that is often overrun by tourists. This book highlights the activities leading up to Halloween that are part of Fantasy Fest. Another unexplained death occurs during the festivities and Hayley finds herself investigating to help her coworker, Danielle, clear her name. all the investigations go on amid parties and food reviews. Meanwhile another reality of Key West plays a role in the story, a hurricane is bearing down. This part was a bit of a stretch at times but added to the story and played a relevant role especially In the dynamics of personal relationships

This series continues to capture the charm and quirkiness of Hayley and Key West
