Did a quick read of this book today as I was sorting books and putting the last of the holiday decorations away. I realized this was a Caldecott Medal Winner in 1986 and as such counted for my monthly book award challenge. I felt a bit like it was cheating to read a children's book but as I don't think I will get my originally scheduled award book read before the end of the month, this will have to be an acceptable stand in.
