My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Quite an emotional read. I appreciate that while this is a middle grade book there are deeper lessons that can be found by older readers. The story definitely highlights the fact that the best of intentions can still have negative consequences. In this case, it is both the actions of the humans both the decision to relocate the friends also has negative consequences and could have had far greater ones if the opportunity didn't come through for George. It can be hard to do the right thing and it doesn't always turn out as planned. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.
