Murder in the Book Lover's Loft is the latest installment in the Book Retreat series. Although it is book 9, Ellery Adams found a way to create a unique storyline. She also progressed in resolving Jane Seward's dilemma on how to balance her family's role as book protectors and ensure the safety of her family. I really enjoyed the crossover between the Book Retreat series and the Books by the Bay series. It is fun to revisit Olivia Limoges and her amazing canine. I had forgotten some of the Books by the Bay story and this book provided the needed reminders especially as to the relationship with the mystery in this book. The crime involved in this book has a unique angle that makes it quite engaging and easy to fall victim to the false leads on the identity of the guilty party. I hope there are more books in the Book Retreat series because I enjoy reading about Storyton and the characters who reside there.

wonderfully woven mystery
Somehow Ellery Adams creates a killer that the reader feels empathy toward this mystery is well written with lots of secrets playing well into the plot The best part is they all seem plausible. I also enjoyed how she intertwined her 2 series by mixing Olivia Limoge and NC into the story. I’m not sure how many more book retreat installments there are but I hope many as there is just something magical about Storyton, VA
