Biscuits and Slashed Browns is the 4th Country Store Mystery by Maddie Day. I hadn't read this series in a bit as I started on her Cape Cod series at the end of 2021 and read a few from that series in Mass. This series is set in South Lick, IN, and mentions many areas of that state that I am familiar with. This always makes reading a book that much more enjoyable for me.
I always enjoy reading about Robbie Jordan and her restaurant. This particular book involves a Maple Syrup Festival which was a unique twist on the usual setups for this series. The dynamics between Robbie and the suspects is a bit more contentious than many of the other books by Maddie Day but I feel this lends an air of authenticity to the story. All in all this is fun series that includes cooking and cycling references.
Biscuits and Slashed Browns by Maddie Day
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
great story with surprising end
Good cozy set in a cafe setting. Plenty of suspects and multiple mysteries surrounding this So Indiana town. Robbie Jordan is an intriguing character who is overcoming relationship woes while embarking on a new one. The local vernacular makes for some truly laughable moments
