Saigon comes alive in this novel
I have been to Vietnam but not Saigon. The authors descriptions of the city and culture bring it to life. The good descriptions are amazing as well. The relationship that grows between Lan and Vivi is engaging. It is amazing to watch them grow together and as Individuals. The perspective of a Vietnamese and an American Vietnamese on the way and its impact on the nation was enlightening and expanded my knowledge and perpective on the war. Overall im glad I selected this book for my challenge this year
