Library Reads 2026

I am going to participate in this challenge again in 2026.    It is being hosted at Angel's Guilty Pleasures and Books of My Heart.     They are doing 3 semester challenges and mini-challenges with giveaways if you review the books you read.

My Goal:
  • Library Card on Fire: Read 60+ books

Winter Semester will run Jan 1- Apr 30, 2026  The linkup  to record your reading can be found here

Summer Semester is May 1- Aug 31, 2026

Autumn Semester Sept 1- Dec 31, 2026

Mini challenges-  audiobook from June 1- July 31

Check out the sign-up by clicking here or on the logo above.  They have a Goodreads group to join and see what everyone is reading.

This one has a minimum of 12 books from the Library to be read in 2026  The only requirement is you check it out from the library, no restrictions on format or genre.   Just support your local library.

I get most of my books from my TBR pile or the Library so this challenge along with the TBR ones are perfect for me.  I admit I do not buy books very often if I can find them at the library or in their ebook catalog.  I do have a Kindle Unlimited account which I use for additional titles.  I prefer to not collect more books in the house as I am trying to slowly downsize our possessions.

Review: Everyone This Christmas Has a Secret

Everyone This Christmas Has a Secret Everyone This Christmas Has a Secret by Benjamin Stevenson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

another enjoyable read

Set up like an advent calendar makes a fun read. Ernest is at it again at Christmas this time. The murder combined with magic tricks makes for a fun read with red herrings and a well laid out plot.

Review: In the Water They Can't See You Cry: A Memoir

In the Water They Can't See You Cry: A Memoir In the Water They Can't See You Cry: A Memoir by Amanda Beard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an impactful read for me. As a competitive swimmer growing up I can relate to some of the body image issues and the lifestyle choices Amanda describes. I found her honesty about her self harm and poor relationships quite enlightening. It shows how impactful our mental health really can be and reminds us not everything is as it seems from the outside

Review: One Foot in the Grove

One Foot in the Grove One Foot in the Grove by Kelly Lane
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A book full of characters that are not traditional home town neighborly. This cozy had several quirky characters and some down right mean ones. This is definitely a bit more gritty than your average cozy. I enjoyed reading about the current events while Eva’s past is revealed as well. Things are not always as they appear. I look forward to reading more of the series

enjoyable and insightful memoir about an iconic model

I really enjoyed this memoir. Especially learning about Christie’s love for adventure and exploring the world. It’s hard not to find her infectious optimism in her writing. She sounds like a wonderful mom and friend.
